What does Attorney Match actually do?+

Our software classifies your matter, ranks the attorneys we have whose public profiles fit your case and your state, and writes a personalized outreach letter for each one that you can edit and send. The number of matches varies by state and practice area. It is a directory and matching tool — it helps you find an attorney, it does not replace one.

Nothing on this site or in your results is legal advice, and using the Service does not create an attorney–client relationship. The shortlist and letters are software-generated drafts to help you reach an attorney, not a legal opinion on your case.

What does it cost, and is there a subscription?+
No subscription and no free trial. It is a one-time $10 charge for an initial case and $5 for a re-run on an existing account. Filtering and refining results you have already paid for is free.
Where do the attorney listings come from?+
Public records — state-bar licensee data and public court records via the Free Law Project / CourtListener — plus attorneys who claim and enrich their own listing. Attorneys never pay to appear and never pay for a higher ranking.
How fast do I get results?+
Typically a few minutes after your payment clears. We email you a private link to your results; you can also reach them through the in-app status page even if the email is delayed.
Is my case description private and secure?+
Yes. Your description and any uploaded documents are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and the encryption key is held separately from the data. Your results link is a high-entropy token delivered only to your email and stored in an httpOnly cookie so it stays out of browser history. Treat the link like a password — anyone who has it can view your results.
Will I get spammed, or will you contact attorneys for me?+
No. We do not send your case to attorneys and we do not contact anyone on your behalf. We draft the letters; you decide who, if anyone, to send them to. We do not sell your information and there is no recurring charge.
What if no attorney responds?+
A response is never guaranteed. We optimize each letter to improve your callback rate, but we do not control any attorney's decision to respond or take your matter. Because the full cost is incurred when your results are generated, fees are non-refundable once results are delivered.
Can I get a refund?+
Fees are non-refundable once results are generated and delivered, since the entire cost is incurred at that moment. Limited exceptions apply — for example, a charged payment where our pipeline failed to produce results, a duplicate charge, or an unauthorized charge. Email support@attorneymatch.app to request a refund under those conditions.
How is this different from a referral service?+
A referral service takes fees from attorneys and routes you to whoever pays. Attorney Match takes nothing from attorneys — they cannot buy a listing or a ranking. We work for you: the only thing that moves an attorney up your shortlist is how well their public profile fits your case.
Do you handle my payment and email yourselves?+
We use trusted providers for the parts that need them: Stripe for payment (your card never touches our servers) and Resend for delivering your results link by email. We use PostHog for high-level, privacy-conscious product analytics that never includes your case content.
